What exactly is nonwoven fabric?
Nonwoven fabrics are defined by ASTM in the United States and ISO in Japan as follows.
“It is a sheet or bat-like fibrous structure in which fibers are entangled or bonded together using adhesives or mechanical methods, and paper and film are different from non-woven fabrics.”
Is the material only synthetic fibers such as nylon, acrylic, or polyester? However, it also includes natural materials such as cotton, wool, and silk.
Cloth that is not woven = non-woven fabric, so if it is not woven or knitted, but is entangled with the pressure of water or glued together with adhesive, it becomes non-woven fabric. There are many different ways to make it, and each has its own characteristics depending on the method and material, so I’ll introduce the manufacturing method next.
